Pastor Mike will be preaching from Hosea 2:2-23 on the topic, “Hope for the Hopeless.”  Please read through the text as you prepare for worship on Sunday.

Pastors’ schedules 

Pastor Mike and Pastor Jaysson will be attending the 2010 Desiring God Pastors Conference in Minneapolis, February 1 - February 3. Please pray that this would be a time of refreshment and encouragement for them.

Travel mercies

Please pray for Dave Connon as he continues his travels to Chad, Africa where he will be helping with the children of the Wycliffe Bible translators for the next several weeks. He flew to Florida on Wednesday for a few days of training and will leave Friday evening for the trip to his final destination. Pray that all connections would go smoothly and that he would arrive safely and be a blessing during his stay in Africa.

Save the date! 

We are planning a service to officially install Pastor Jaysson as associate pastor on Sunday, February 21. It will be followed by a church potluck and Open House to provide an opportunity for the community to meet him. More details will follow soon. 

EFCA Crisis Response Making an Impact in Haiti 

According to a recent communication from the national office, EFCA TouchGlobal Crisis Response is working overtime responding to the crisis in Haiti. The assessment team is networking with many national government organizations, the U.S. military and other relief organizations to mobilize help for the Haitians.  

The team works each day from early in the morning to late at night securing needed relief supplies (food/water/fuel) and setting up locally led distribution networks. In recent days, the team secured food for 6,000 people for a week to be distributed in three communities. Time is spent each day: 

·         Assessing needs in numerous locations across the area

·         Resourcing medical supplies for teams of doctors

·         Working with Vision of Hope ministries to support medical/humanitarian needs at a hospital for displaced people in Cap Haitian

·         Working on logistics for long term staff and team presence.

Good Friday service 

For anyone interested in being part of the community Good Friday service, either singing in the choir or helping out behind the scenes, there is an informational meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 31 at the Earlham Friends Church at 4 p.m. Questions? Contact Lynne Hoeksema.
